Here are some tips on parenting a newborn aged 0-3 months:
Feeding :
Your newborn will need to feed frequently, usually every 2-3 hours. Breastfeeding is recommended as it provides the best nutrition and helps build a bond between you and your baby. If you’re unable to breastfeed, formula feeding is a good alternative(Breast pump)
Sleep :
Newborns sleep a lot, usually 16-17 hours a day. However, they wake up frequently for feeding and diaper changes. It’s important to create a safe sleep environment for your baby, such as using a firm, flat surface for sleeping and avoiding soft bedding and toys in the crib.
Diapering :
You’ll need to change your baby’s diaper frequently, about 10-12 times a day (Diaper pants). Make sure to keep the diaper area clean and dry to prevent diaper rash (use Diaper cream)
Bonding :
Spend time holding and cuddling your baby, as this helps build a strong bond between you and your child. You can also talk, sing, and read to your baby, even though they may not understand the words yet.
Developmental milestones :
Your baby will start developing at their own pace, but you can expect them to start lifting their head, tracking objects with their eyes, and making cooing sounds around 2-3 months.
Taking care of yourself :
Remember to take care of yourself as well, as parenting a newborn can be exhausting. Get enough rest, eat well, and reach out to friends and family for support.
Follow up with your pediatrician :
Make sure to keep up with your baby’s doctor appointments and check-ups, as your pediatrician can provide guidance and support throughout your baby’s early years.
