Roasted Legumes

A variety of Roasted Legumes that are essential to Tamil cuisine are referred to as paruppu vakkaikal in Tamil Nadu. Sambar, rasam, dal, and curries are frequently made using legumes including toor dal, moong dal, urad dal, chana dal, and masoor dal. These legumes are a nutritious complement to any diet because they are high in protein, fibre, and other minerals.

In South India, notably in Tamil Nadu, groundnut fry is a well-liked snack. It is prepared with Roasted Legumes or frying groundnuts, also known as peanuts, together with seasonings including salt, turmeric, and red chilli powder. The finished snack is tasty, crispy, and spicy—it goes great with tea or coffee.
